Jeff Powers is a first-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with more than 20 years of martial arts experience. His passion for Jiu-Jitsu is matched by his commitment to helping students develop confidence, discipline, and a strong, well-rounded understanding of the art.
In addition to teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at an academy, Jeff developed a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club at Norwood Middle School, where he has taught for the past four years. Through the program, he has introduced young students to the physical and personal benefits of martial arts. Jeff has also cornered several high-level professional fighters competing in organizations such as Bellator and the World Series of Fighting.
Jeff is a lifelong student of martial arts who continually works to expand his knowledge and improve his teaching. His goal is to create a positive and supportive environment where students of all ages and experience levels can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
Outside the academy, Jeff is a registered nurse. He is married and has twin daughters. Jeff and his family enjoy traveling, hiking, staying active, and watching crime shows together.
